Enrico Bracesco
Born on April 10, 1910, in Monza, he worked as a head toolmaker in Section V of Breda, building aircraft and war material during the day, while actively collaborating with partisan groups in the Brianza region at night.
He was one of the organizers of the first strikes in March 1943; for this, he was tried and given a one-year suspended sentence. On the night of November 4, 1943, he transported weapons and supplies intended for the partisans, but was intercepted by the Fascist police after a successful delivery.
During the escape, his vehicle overturned, severing one of his legs. He was arrested and taken to the hospital. As soon as he was out of danger, he escaped and hid with relatives, but was arrested again following an informant's tip.
He was imprisoned and subjected to brutal interrogations. From Platform 21 at Milan Central Station, he was transferred to the Fossoli camp; after three months there, he was sent to the Bolzano camp, and finally, on August 7, he was deported to Mauthausen in a cattle car.
He was murdered on December 15, 1944, in the horrific Hartheim Castle, a Nazi medical experimentation center linked to the insane Aktion T4 project.
